Introduction of 3 new Volvo 70 Race Yachts

Volvo is not only a good car.

It is one of the most exciting boats in the world!

We like to introduce to you three new Volvo 70 Ocean Race Yachts that we have listed.

  • Volvo 70 Green Dragon
  • Volvo 70 E1
  • Volvo 70 Monster Project

All three the yachts are available as whole boat charter for racing or cruising but are also available to be booked by individuals. We just need 8 individuals for a particular event and you will receive an amazing experience.

Johannes Schwarz is most of the times the skipper. He is a very experienced Volvo 60 and 70 skipper and sail trainer and logged more than 250000 NM offshore. He flourishes in guiding and training young talents and is very patient. Johannes is a great motivator for sailors and teams and is leading them safely across oceans and around race courses.

Green Dragon competed in the 2008 – 2009 Volvo Ocean Race with Ian Walker, British Olympic silver medallist, making his debut as skipper. Green Dragon finished 5th. Ian Walker later won the 2015 race with Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing. Green Dragon is a Volvo 70 Class boat for serious racing, race charter and cruising. She shines in reaching conditions and is a very good overall performer in a race like the RORC Caribbean 600 for example.

Volvo 70 E1

Volvo 70 E1
E1 competed in the 2005 – 2006 Volvo Ocean Race as Ericsson Racing Team with Neal McDonald as skipper.
She is a good downwind racer and sailor and really fast from light to heavy conditions. A race like the ARC or the Rolex Middle Sea Race suits her well.
E1 was 6th in line honours in last year’s Caribbean 600 with a crew of berth charterers – perhaps the best result of such a crew in a world top long-distance race for many years!
The maximum crew for offshore sailing is 20 and for inshore sailing 25.

Volvo 70 Monster Project

Monster Project, formerly S.Y Kosatka, a Volvo Open 70 in the 2008-2009 Volvo Ocean Race Round the World is under new ownership since end of 2019 and all technical systems are refitted and the underwater ship has been redone.
In the next weeks, we decide what her program will be and if she stays in Australia or will be relocated. We already wanted to let you know that she is back on the water and available to charter for racing and cruising or to be booked by individuals.
