The 3rd edition of the Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy will take place in Cascais, Portugal, on 4th and 5th June 2022. Around 100 Offshore Sailing Boats, including conventional and high-performance cruisers, are expected.
The Clube Naval de Cascais will partner with the Mirpuri Foundation for this event.
First Health Controlled Race
The inaugural Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy took place in 2020 with some of the biggest names in offshore sailing taking part.
Organised in partnership with the Clube Naval de Cascais, the health controlled event was the first of its kind as the sailing world took its first steps back to the water in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The two-leg regatta between Cascais and Sesimbra was created to raise awareness and important funds for marine conservations projects. More than 50 boats took part in the event.
Sustainable Regatta
The Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy is a plastic-free sustainable regatta and a charitable event. The team registration fees in this edition of the race are being supported by the Mirpuri Foundation and donated to Marine Conservation programs.
The Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy aims to be one of the main sailing events in the world, says Paulo Mirpuri, President of the Mirpuri Foundation. Marine conservation is a key cornerstone of our activities at the Foundation and provides the inspiration for The Mirpuri Foundation Sailing Trophy. We believe in the power of sport to bring people together and raise awareness for the challenges our planet is facing. Sailing provides us with a direct link to the beautiful but fragile oceans that we all rely on so heavily.
