The Rolex Sydney Hobart Race is one of the toughest and most respected ocean races in the world and on this passage we will sail the reverse Category 1 course from Hobart to Sydney and take in the stunning scenery along the east coast of Tasmania before crossing Bass Strait to sail up the east coast of Victoria and New South Wales to our destination at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, in Pittwater NSW.

Hobart to Pittwater Passage / 650 Nm / 8 Days / Cat 1 Ocean Passage / 10 Apr –  18 Apr 2022

You can fly directly into Hobart Airport on the 10th of April 2022 and join us for a crew dinner ashore that evening. Our crew will officially assemble on the 11th of April and we’ll familiarise you with the yacht, systems and safety equipment. We will aim to depart (subject to weather) on the 12th of April from our Hobart marina berth. You are welcome to stay onboard from the date you arrive, but if you plan to arrive prior to the 10th of April, you may need to arrange accommodation ashore. You can depart out of Sydney airport on or after the 18th of April.

You will need to complete a 2-day Sea Safety and Survival Training Course or equivalent Category 1 Course at least 2 months prior to the event.

Your crew package includes:

  • all meals onboard
  • meals ashore in Hobart and on day of arrival in Pittwater
  • accommodation onboard
  • your Ocean Sailing Expeditions crew shirt
  • marina fees
  • the use of a PFD (personal floatation device), PLB (personal locator beacon), and a safety tether
  • your bedding, a pillow and towel is also included along with suncream.

Your crew package excludes:

  • accommodation ashore
  • flights and transport to and from departure and arrival ports and visas
  • alcohol
  • toiletries
  • clothing and wet weather gear

You will need to complete a 2-day Sea Safety and Survival Training Course or equivalent Category 1 Course at least 1 month prior.
