Regata Palermo-Montecarlo

Regata Palermo-Montecarlo is one of the most prestigious Mediterranean high sea regattas. In 2015 IMA- Mediterranean Maxi Offshore Challenge has been included in the circuit, a competition that gathers the Rolex Middle Sea Race, the Volcano Race and the Giraglia Rolex Cup.

Created in 2005 by the Consul of the Principality of Monaco and the Sport Department of the District of Palermo to join two cities which have historically been friends. This Challenge offers to all the sailing lovers a race with technical and panoramic contents.

Very famous ships started from the gorgeous “Golfo di Mondello”, through the Bocche di Bonifacio to the Monaco Bay, like Steinlager, the memorable winner ketch of the Whitbread, or the super maxi Esimit Europa 2 and Senso One and much more.

The race record belongs to Igor Simic maxi Esimit Europa 2 that beat the previous leader with its timing of 47 hours. 46 minutes and 48 seconds in 2015.
